This Is Us stenciled wood plank by Patty Folchert

Here is a lovely family theme piece made from a whitewash wood plank and a new 3x3 Hampton Art stencil set. The 3x3 stencil was repeated 6 times on the backside of the wood plank with a burgundy color Sharpie marker. The stencil was rotated 3 times on each side to get the design shown. Then the foam stickers from Garden Harvest collection were added in the center as shown. 

Now it is ready for your family room!

So Glad We Are Friends card by Patty Folchert

A card that openly declares a friendship is the order of the day. This is another exploration into layering stamp sets and this time in shades of blue and green. Start out the card by stamping in the corner as shown the big flower base petals in medium blue. Then in darker blue ink stamp the outline details. Then in dark green ink add the leaves in between the flowers. Last select a sentiment and stamp in dark green as shown. Now your friendship card is complete and ready to share!

An encouragement card is up today. This one is made with a layering stamp set in ink shades of blue. First the light blue was stamped as the flower bases onto the white cardstock panel. Then the darker blue was stamped adding the outline details. Last the sentiment was stamped in the darker blue color. Cover the card base with the pink plaid pattern and finally add the stamped panel to the card front with 3D foam squares. Do you know someone who could use a little boost of encouragement? This card could be just what you need.

In honor of spring let’s look at a card bursting with flowers. This card was made with a Hampton Art layering stamp. The first layer was stamped in light purple for the flower petals. The next layer was stamped in dark purple for the outline detail. The last layer added was the leaves in dark green. Then a sentiment was selected from the same set and stamped in dark purple. The layering sets are fun and easy to work with, if you have not tried them yet you should!

Wishing You Happiness card by Patty Folchert

Happiness wishes are the goal of this floral card, just in time for the spring season. This card is also made from a layering set of stamps. Start with a white piece of cardstock and begin stamping with the lightest shade of purple the small flowers. Next in a darker shade of purple stamp the base petals of the big flowers. Then stamp the outline and detail of the big flowers with the darkest shade of purple ink. The leaves are two shades of green ink the lighter the base of the leaves and the darker is the outline. The sentiment was then stamped in two different colors the top line in dark green and the bottom portion in dark purple. This card is sure to be received as happy mail indeed.

A Cup of Thanks card by Patty Folchert

Having fun thank you cards on hand is just a good idea. Here is a shaker card made with new Hampton Art/Jillibean Stamp and die set called Hug in a Mug. The card starts out with a heart shaker card and insert, then the background papers were added. Do the pineapples speak to you too? Saying something like- “Come away with me to a tropical paradise.”  Either that or maybe cabin fever is just setting in, regardless, could not resist them and love the resulting color palette too. The hearts pattern was also added to the background and then the green plaid border strip really set it off. Stamp the mug in gray ink onto lighter gray paper and use the coordinating die to cut out. Add the resulting gray heart to the border strip and stamp the sentiment directly onto them in black ink. Add the orange plaid paper as a backer to the shaker portion and then fill up the shaker insert with your chosen fillers. This card used the orange glitter flowers and the flower wood veneers. Then you are finished! This card says thank you with a fun tropical twist.

You're The Sweetest card by Patty Folchert

Have you seen this new ice cream stamp and die set from Hampton Art/Jillibean Soup, it really is so sweet! This card begins with the Jillibean cloud shaker card base and insert. The border strips were added from the new paper pads, All About Dots and All About Plaid. The first stamping is done onto kraft paper to create the cone in brown ink and the sentiment in red and brown ink as shown. Next the top dip of ice cream was stamped in brown ink onto the teal dots paper. Then the bottom scoop of ice cream was stamped onto the red plaid paper in brown ink, including that adorable winky eye face. The last stamped item is the cherry which was stamped in red ink onto the red plaid paper. Using a die cutting machine and the coordinating dies cut out the cone, two dips of ice cream and the cherry. Add the sentiment to the bottom right of card as pictured. Then add the ice cream cone with 3D foam dots. Adhere with regular adhesive the bottom dip of ice cream being sure to line it up inside the cutout portion of the shaker card. Add the top dip of ice cream as shown and then top it all off with the cherry on top. Then take a moment to pick out your shaker fillers, this card uses red jewels and wood veneer starbursts. Looks good enough to eat, but better to just mail it to a sweet friend.
