Is there a new bundle of joy arriving into your life? I
could not resist reaching for the Jillibean Soup new shaker card system to
create a baby card. It paired up nicely with a Hampton Art wood block stamp to
make this sweet baby card.
Bundle of Joy card by Patty Folchert
Beginning with the plain card
base I cut four border strips as shown from Summer Red Raspberry Soup papers in
pink and aqua patterns. Then I sewed them onto the card base with white thread
with my sewing machine. Then I grabbed one of the new kraft banner tags from
the “Tag You’re It” collection and stamped the sentiment in brown ink. Then I
added the color floral strip on the end and sewed it on as well. The banner tag
was then attached to card with foam dots.
Then I added the plastic
shape shaker. Next I filled the shape with sequins in gold, pink and green
colors with a few wood veneer stars sprinkled in. Then I added a pea pod doily
shape to the back of the shape attaching it with the adhesive already on the
shape. Then laying the shape into the front card opening I added adhesive to
the doily and attached to inside of card. That gave me a nice pink backer on
the shape and a cute scalloped edge on the inside of the card.
That is how I created a sweet
welcome baby card for a very special baby girl named Addison. With one color
change from pink to light blue, and two different paper choices this could very
easily adapt to a baby boy card too.
Baby Blessings,
Patty Folchert
