I have been so busy concentrating my efforts on making cards using my stamps that I'd almost forgotten that stamping on a layout can be just as rewarding and just as much fun.
I used the stamps to create a really unique background effect that would act as a mat for my photo, I also added a few air blown splashes of ink just to soften the overall look.

Ballet Girls layout by Leanne Allinson
To create more dimension on a layout, stamp butterfly images onto plain white cardstock, fussy cut around them and then place adhesive to only one wing. This allows the layout to have a 3D effect and creates movement on the page.
Supplies:
Hampton Art:
stamps - Jillibean Soup/Chilled Cucumber Soup small set 2 (JB0042); Fresh Vegetable Soup (JB0026).
ink - Kaisercraft Ink (antique rose, corn, lilac); VersaMark/watermark ink.
embossing powder - Stampin' Up emboss (pool party).
paper - Jillibean Soup; Stampin' Up; Elle's Studio; Echo Park.
embellishments - American Crafts glitter thickers, Studio Calico wood veneer hearts, sequins, mist

Happy Birthday card by Leanne Allinson
1. Cut cardstock to 4.25" x 9", Jillibean Soup: Chilled Cucumber (yellow tomatoes) to 4" x 4.25" and the Jillibean Soup: Chilled Cucumber (yellow tomatoes reverse side) to 3.75" x 4". Ink the edges of the patterned papers and layer on top of each other.
2. Using the Jillibean Soup: Fresh Vegetable clear stamps (JB0026), stamp an image of the jar and lid onto plain vanilla/cream cardstock. Fussy cut around the outside edge.
3. Stamp two of the large butterflies and two of the small butterflies from the same clear stamp set, in embossing ink and cover in embossing powder. Replace the excess embossing powder into its container and heat set the images.
4. Using a selection yellow and beige inks, create a dappled light effect on the jar image with the "i" dots from alpha stamps or the eraser tip from a pencil. Wrap a piece of twine around the neck of the jar. Adhere image to the card.
5. Embellish card with punched butterflies, pearls and the sentiment.
Designer notes: The Jillibean Soup: Chilled Cucumber "Hello There" sentiment (small set 2 - JB0042) was embossed in the same manner as the butterflies above.
