Do we have any Hampton Art fans that are West Coast transplants? I, Vivian Keh, am from the East Coast originally, and while I've lost my ability to tolerate its winters, I will forever yearn for its autumns. Those days where the landscape had turned a spectacular patchwork of colors, but one could still enjoy a fresh walk outdoors - mmm mmm mmm. This card was inspired by autumn in New England, the old jeans, florals, and soft, silky scarves I'd so often wear at that time of year. Gosh, all through college, I was such a girly girl. What the heck happened lol?
It's still a great, timeless combination, I think. Really simple card. For the heart, I pulled out my Hampton Art/ Doodlebug SC0469 "Icons" Clear Stamp Set - such a special shape on that heart. Several graphically bold, adorable shapes are also included in the set!
Year round use, I'd say. For the sentiment, I called upon my well-used Hampton Art/ Doodlebug SC0473 Clear Stamp Set.
For the distressed fringes, I used the Hampton Art/ 7 Gypsies PS0673 Distress Background Woodblock Stamp with a pretty "Pinkolicious" Dye ink from Clearsnap.
I cut strips from the stamped image, randomly fringed the strips and distressed them a bit...
...covering the raw edges with a scalloped strip of patterned paper.
Faux stitching, a bow made with the most delicate shade of pink seam binding, some snaps just like the ones you'd find on jeans, and this card was done!
