Savor the Journey

Designer Vivian Keh has a great project to share with us today!

Savor the Journey Card

Savor

Welcome to the blog, Hampton Art fans! Today I want to share with you a simple card that I made using the Hampton Art SC0396 Blossom Sentiment Stamp Set designed by Kelly Panacci.

Blossom Sentiments Stamp Set

It's got some funky, happy blooms that I adore, and some leaf shapes that could also be repurposed for more abstract, textural interest in your projects! For my card, I used white pigment ink to stamp the leaf pattern onto kraft cardstock in an irregular pattern, radiating outward from a central point.

Love Using White Pigment Ink on Kraft!

Then I cut out strips of patterned paper using a bracket edger punch, adhering them to the card front along with a bit of simple trim I picked up on National Scrapbooking Day!

Decorative Strip

I absolutely adore the bloom in this set that has the variegated, curvy edge. I know I'll use it a lot. So rather than pull out the supplies each time, I just went stamp crazy as such...

Stamping Mania!

Ohh what a blessing to be able to appreciate life's simplest pleasures. Stamping this funkiness all over my paper scraps was a blast haha! I'll fussy cut the rest of the flowers while I'm forced (by someone who will remain unnamed) to watch reality TV at night!

After stamping, I cut out a few blooms that I had stamped with black dye ink onto cream cardstock scraps.

Fussy Cut Flowers

Then I distressed the edges with tea dye ink.

Distressing the Blooms

I wanted a bit of shine on this card, so I squished watermark ink onto each bloom and then covered with clear embossing powder.

Embossing in Progress

A touch of the heat gun and voila!

Lacquered Effect

I clustered the blooms around this oh so succinct square of patterned paper and adhered a metallic butterfly to add variety of texture.

Clustered Elements

To finish it off, I added a bit of pearl bling along edge at about where the leaf shapes begin to dissipate.

Pearl Bling

Here's a full shot of the final card.

I hope today's post kindled your crafty mojo! I'm also posting a few contrasting projects on my blog today that utilize the same set! So hop on over!
