Steampunk Layout

Gini picture
Hi, It’s Gini here to share a very vintage layout – with a picture of my grandfather as a little boy. I thought the Steampunk style would be great with the outfit that he was wearing and the awesome new 7gypsies stamps. The clustering on this layout reminds me of some of the “treasures” a little boy (even a very well dressed little boy), might have stuffed in his pockets.

ColorBox Chalk Ink : Chestnut Roan
ColorBox Petal Point Pigment Inkpad: Provence

1. Randomly stamp images from the Time Pieces set, diagonally across the base page, to form the base to add clustering. Use different colors of ink from the Provence collection.
2. Stamp the sentiment in the upper left corner, and highlight it by inking a halo around it using the Chestnut Roan ink.
3. Add your photo, and other paper/transparency layers over the top of the stamped images.
4. Stamp the pocket watch, fussy cut and add a metal game spinner to the center – glue to the bottom left of the photo. Cluster die cuts, fussy cut stamped images, ribbon leaves, chipboard and other embellishments of your choosing. You should still be able to see some of the stamped images on the base page, peeking out. If you don’t see as many as you would like, you can add more.
5. Stamp small circular stamps, and cover with an epoxy bubble and add to the centers of flowers.

USA Altered Box

gloria picture

I created an altered shadow box filled with patriotic colors to honor my older brother Larry, who served in the US Navy.

Gloria Stengel Hampton Art USA-Box-1

The box is a "drawer" from a Graphic 45 Matchbook Box Staples and measures 8x8 inches. I covered all the sides of the box with decorative paper.

The dimension of the box was perfect for adding many lumpy embellishments to the altered tag.

I stamped images onto paper and then cut them out with die templates. I also added rosettes cut from decorative papers.

I think the saying about time being fleeting is a good one to use for this project. The photo of my brother was taken when he was 18 years old, and he is soon to celebrate his 62nd birthday! I am sure he will agree, that time is fleeting and precious.

Happy Taking Photos

Adora picture
Hello Hampton Arts fan, this is Adora Concepcion to share with you a layout I created using some Ki Memories goodies. Can you believe January ends today already, the weather is slowly turning around, hopefully getting better for some of us. Rain is a big part of Seattle and so the more rain for us just means spring is on it’s way!  Have you started thinking of vacations yet? I have the thought of warn and dry weather sounds so good. With that in mind I made this layout of my sister that I took from our last summer vacation.
Note: I used Washi tape to frame and highlight the focal point of my layout. Layered several papers for color and dimension. Embellished the page with cut out prints on the patterned paper , die cut stickers and direct stamping .

Design team member Adora Concepcion here!  Welcome to our new blog!

The thing with card making is it’s really hard to stop with one. I’m sure some of you can relate!  As you can see, I mostly used the same supplies on these cards except for the stamps. I guess I can’t stand to see the unused half of the paper/supplies that I started with so I end up with at least 2 cards at a time. Good thing is no one can not have too many cards, right!?

Thanks for stopping by!

The video is ready and available for your viewing pleasure here!  Hope you'll take a break from your day to check it out - you just may be inspired to get funky wit' yo' colors!
