Bundle of Joy card by designer Patty Folchert

Is there a new bundle of joy arriving into your life? I could not resist reaching for the Jillibean Soup new shaker card system to create a baby card. It paired up nicely with a Hampton Art wood block stamp to make this sweet baby card.

Bundle of Joy card by Patty Folchert

Beginning with the plain card base I cut four border strips as shown from Summer Red Raspberry Soup papers in pink and aqua patterns. Then I sewed them onto the card base with white thread with my sewing machine. Then I grabbed one of the new kraft banner tags from the “Tag You’re It” collection and stamped the sentiment in brown ink. Then I added the color floral strip on the end and sewed it on as well. The banner tag was then attached to card with foam dots.

Then I added the plastic shape shaker. Next I filled the shape with sequins in gold, pink and green colors with a few wood veneer stars sprinkled in. Then I added a pea pod doily shape to the back of the shape attaching it with the adhesive already on the shape. Then laying the shape into the front card opening I added adhesive to the doily and attached to inside of card. That gave me a nice pink backer on the shape and a cute scalloped edge on the inside of the card.
That is how I created a sweet welcome baby card for a very special baby girl named Addison. With one color change from pink to light blue, and two different paper choices this could very easily adapt to a baby boy card too.

Baby Blessings,
Patty Folchert

You & Me Layout by designer Patty Folchert

My husband and I got to enjoy an Anniversary Getaway weekend in October and I wanted to create a layout of our visit to Granville. The Jillibean Soup papers and brand new wood tags from the Tag You’re It collection made perfect accents.

You & Me layout by Patty Folchert

I started with a plain kraft paper background and cut some border strips from the Summer Red Raspberry Soup paper collection. Knowing I wanted to use some of the new tags I chose two wood tags, one kraft banner tag and one vellum with gold foil tag. Then I stamped directly onto the wood tags in a couple different colors. The small wood butterfly tag was stamped first in light blue pigment ink and let dry. Then I stamped a smaller butterfly over top of the blue one in brown ink. The bigger tag was stamped first with doily stamp in yellow and green ink. Then I stamped it again with the You & Me sentiment in brown ink. The last tag was the new kraft banner tag which I stamped three small butterflies in brown ink as shown.

The design of the layout was based on a sketch by Scrapbook Generations. I often begin with a sketch to get the creativity flowing. I hope this gives you new ideas on how to utilize tags on a layout in a fun way.

Tag You’re It,

 Patty Folchert
