Bible Journaling by Patty Folchert

I am excited to share with you today a new way to use your scrapbooking/card making supplies. Bible Journaling is a new trend that has grown over the last couple of years and I made a couple pages to show you how easy it is to utilize your stamps to achieve a similar design. With these pages I used the new Jillibean Soup Bowl of Dreams stamp set and lots of stickers and an alphabet.

Bible Journaling by Patty Folchert

The bible verse I chose to highlight is Psalms 91:4, it has always brought me comfort to know that God is my protector and watches over me. When I create Bible journaling pages I highlight a verse on the left side with a word defined at the bottom and then I select a current Christian song that speaks to me in regards to the verse for the right side. So Kutless’ Strong Tower was the song I chose and it was then added to the right side with lyrics from their song that demonstrate to me God’s protection. God is my strong tower and a shelter over me, those words fill my heart with comfort and hope.

However you can format your pages however you like, it is about freely expressing your bible study in an art form that speaks to you.

First of all there is no right or wrong way to journal in your Bible. There are literally countless ways to do it, with journaling pens, colored pencils, paints, stickers, washi tapes, stamps, you name it and you can most likely try it. With these two pages I tried to keep it simple by using only journaling pen, stickers and stamps. Starting out I used a pencil to sketch out my ideas and plan for where I would use letter stickers. Then I did my stamping, I used gray ink and blue ink on the arrows and a combination of blue and yellow on the feathers with some yellow hearts added in at the end. The stamps allow me to add fun designs without having to draw them myself, such as the feathers, I just stamped them and then outlined them with the journaling pen. Next I adhered the letter stickers and traced over the pencil sketches with a journaling pen. I added a crown diecut to emphasize the word King and it was adhered with a tape runner. Several stickers were used as shown, a couple as words for the lyrics and a couple for decoration. That was all, think of it as doodling with a spiritual purpose.

If you think you might like Bible journaling I encourage you to give it a try. To be able to bring my spiritual self and creative self together has really been a joyful experience for me.

Blessed to Create,
Patty Folchert

Birthday Matchbox/Card by Patty Folchert

Looking for a different type of Birthday card? Try making this cute matchbox style greeting using a Jillibean favor box and brand new Jillibean Souper Celebration stamps.

Birthday Matchbox/Card by Patty Folchert

The base is a Party Playground favor box and I stamped the sentiment in blue, red and gray on a Hampton Art kraft tag.

Then I added the super cute yellow bow clip. Both of these were adhered to the top of the favor box. Then I went to work on the inside feature, the adorable alligator.

I stamped him onto white cardstock in gray ink, his crown in yellow ink and the sentiment in red ink and then colored him in with my colored pencils. Next I lined the favor box with a piece of pattern Birthday paper in yellow text. Then I cut a tab at the bottom to adhere him to the inside of the favor box. But somehow, he still needed something? Googley Eyes! Yep that was it, I had to bring him to life just a bit.

A unique way to say Happy Birthday. These would also make cute party favors for any occasion.

Celebrate Gator Style,
Patty Folchert

Hello Shaker card by Patty Folchert

Birthday cards are always needed around here, this is one created with a brand new stamp & die set from Jillibean Soup.

Hello Shaker card by Patty Folchert

The base was made with brand new Jillibean papers in floral and yellow Birthday text as shown. The card base is the small circle shaker which fits in the new “Call Me” stamp and die set. First I used the dies to cut out the hello, telephone and inside circle dial. Then stamped the inside dial onto the polka dot paper and then stamped the phone on the blue dot paper in gray ink.

Last I added the shaker fillers of jewels and sequins to the small circle shaker and attached it over the stamped dial circle. For some extra texture I machine stitched the yellow panel to the base.

A cheerful birthday card has emerged! Be sure to check out the new stamp and die sets, they are lots of fun.

Here is a fun llama card sure to make anyone smile. It was created using one of the brand new shaker cards with the heart shape and the new Jillibean Soup Souper Celebration clear stamp set.

To make this card I started with the blank card base, next I added the washi tape behind the open heart cutout. Then I added the diecut letters to spell out “love” as shown. Then I stamped the llama in gray ink and colored them in with colored pencils.

Next I added the floral washi tape to the top and the bottom of the card. Then I added the birthday wishes pea pod lined up against the letter L. I added a blue heart sticker to the letter E. Last I added shaker filler jewels and sequins to the heart shaker and adhered it to the card base.

A playful card for all ages I think, who doesn’t appreciate a llama?

Love To See You Smile card by Patty Folchert

Smiling is my favorite, hee hee- a favorite line of mine from a favorite movie. Who do you want to see smile this month? This card is sure to make someone smile, it is made up from the new Stamp Perfect tool, new layering stamp set and some Jillibean paper.

Love To See You Smile card by Patty Folchert

The card base is tan and I added a new Jillibean Green pattern paper as a center panel complete with sewn edges for added texture. This is the third card I have made with this stamp set and nope I am still not tired of it. I did choose the other layered flower in the set and added the Stamp Perfect tool. First layer was stamped onto white cardstock in the light blue and the second layer was stamped in the navy blue. Then the bottom of the stamped paper was cut with a banner end.

Next I stamped the sentiment in black ink onto white cardstock and cutout out as shown and adhered to card base with 3D foam dots. I inked the edges of the sentiment piece in the light blue ink. Last I added some small gray pearls to the flower centers, for just a touch of bling.

I hope this card makes you smile today! Have a great week!

Smiles to You,
Patty Folchert

Always Be Brave tag by Patty Folchert

I got to spend some time last month at the Creativation event in Phoenix, Arizona. I spent time working in two booths, the Hampton Art booth and the Jillibean Soup booth. In the Hampton Art booth I had the opportunity to demo the brand new Stamp Perfect tool, this is one of the tags I made while I was doing the demos that day using one of the new layering stamp sets Hampton released.

Always Be Brave tag by Patty Folchert

I really love this butterfly and there are two different butterfly options in this fantastic new layering stamp set. To demonstrate how the Stamp Perfect stamp positioning tool works I began with a plain white Hampton tag and for the base layer of the butterfly I stamped the light green. For the second layer I used the teal ink and for the final outline layer I used the dark purple ink. Last I stamped the brave sentiment in the teal ink color as shown.

That was it, super simple tag full of color- perfect for your next gift bag! Did I mention how much I love the new Stamp Perfect tool and the layering stamps?

Be Brave,
Patty Folchert

So Glad We Are Friends card by Patty Folchert

Celebrate your friends with a card created just for them. This sweet card was made with the new Stamp Perfect tool, layering stamps and tag by Hampton Art.

So Glad We Are Friends card by Patty Folchert

I chose a soft color palette for this card and began with a light peach card base. Then I grabbed my Stamp Perfect tool and added the flowers from the new layering set. Each flower has three layers, I stamped the base in the lightest teal ink color from the Hampton Tealoholic stamp set. Then the petals were stamped with a darker shade of teal and last the detail outline was stamped in darkest teal ink color.

Then I stamped the tag with the sentiment in the darkest teal color and added the tag with 3D foam dots to the card base center as shown. To dress up the flowers I added large white pearls to the centers. As a finishing touch I clipped off the paperclip and added the Jillibean teal bow to the sentiment tag.

It still needed something more so I added the super cute Jillibean cactus paper as border strips and sewed two lines on each for added texture.

So easy that you could whip one up for a friend in no time.

Glad We’re Friends,
Patty Folchert

Believe in Yourself card by Patty Folchert

Today I would like to share an encouragement card. This card was created with the brand new Stamp Perfect tool and fabulous layering stamps from Hampton Art.

Believe in Yourself card by Patty Folchert

The card begins with a mint cardstock base and then I began to layer the flowers onto the base in three shades of purple using the Lovely Lilac ink pad set. Using the Stamp Perfect I started with the base layer in lightest purple shade, then switched to the petals layer in darker shade and last the outline detail layer in darkest shade of purple. Then I added the leaves in teal ink as shown.

Next I stamped the detail outline layer flower in teal onto the cream tag and then stamped the sentiment in the darkest shade of purple. I added the jute twine to the tag hole as shown and to finish it off I added the teal adhesive sequins.

I really love how the color combo came out! Now I have a go-to card for a friend in need of some encouragement. This stamp set has several sentiments I love, I made two more cards this month using this set. Oh and I am totally hooked on the Stamp Perfect too, love it!

Until Next Time,
Patty Folchert
