Hello Cutie Baby Album by designer Patty Folchert

Do you need a special gift for an upcoming Baby Shower? Look no further, here is the perfect gift- a baby mini album featuring Jillibean Soup/Hampton Art Summer Red Raspberry papers and stamps.

So as to not limit the versatility of this album I kept it gender neutral. However, using this same collection you could easily adapt it to lean more toward either gender. The wood album was just too cute to resist, it is from Melissa Frances. So I started by selecting the base papers for each cover and page. To cut them to size I simply flipped over the page and traced around it as a template. The two front cover pages bear cutouts had to be cut out with exacto knife. Once all of the pages were cut I adhered them to the pages with red strip tape adhesive.

Then I sanded the edges using a sanding block for a nice finished edge.

Next I stamped all of the sentiments, flowers and butterflies in brown ink onto plain white cardstock or patterned paper or the tags shown (as shown). Then I fussy cut them as I needed to add them to the pages.

Then I cut the mats for each page, here are those details:
Page 1: one mat= 3.75” x 4”
Page 2: two mats= 2” x 3”
Page 3: one mat= 3.75” x 3.5”
Page 4: one mat= 3.5” x 4”
Page 5: one mat= 3.5” x 4”

Each mat I inked the edges with small color box chestnut roan ink pad.
The front cover has a layered flower made with 6 scalloped circles, wetted down and scrunched up for thedistressed look. The layers are hole punched in the centers and then attached with a brad. Then I added a matching vintage button with a pearl dot center. I tied a bow using May Arts yellow chevron ribbon and added some lace roses. I added small pearl dots to the centers of the lace roses too. Then I hand cut a couple leaves from the mint pattern paper and folded in centers and attached as shown. Last I stamped the sentiment “hello cutie” onto the green doily in brown ink and punched out with scalloped circle punch. Everything on the front cover was adhered with the red strip tape for durability.

The inside of the front cover I added the two large stamped butterflies, two roses and 3 small stamped flowers as pictured. I inked the edges in chestnut roan ink and added two red vintage buttons with KI Memories glitter dots added on in green to the centers of all of the flowers. I also added a small iridescent white bow. All of these were adhered with glue dots to make sure they stay in place.

Page 1 is a simple mat with sticker sentiment added below as shown with 3D foam dots. A couple more green glitter dots are in mat top two corners.

Page 3 has two smaller mats attached as shown in picture. Each mat has a stamped small butterfly added with 3D foam dots. Then I cut some Maya Road trim ribbon and added next to butterflies. The sentiment is a sticker with a small white pearl added to the heart.

Page 4 has one mat centered as pictured, I border punched border strips for top and bottom in multi color pattern paper and added to mat. Another small stamped butterfly was added to the center bottom with more snippets of the Maya Road trim on each side as shown.

I kept the last two pages extra simple starting with a vintage lace border on each as pictured. Then I added the Cutie Pie arrow sticker onto pattern paper and cut out and attached with 3D foam dots. Last I added the Super Cute Summer Red Raspberry sticker on Page 5.

The back cover I left blank due to wear and tear of it laying on the backside. I did cover it with the multi color pattern which I thought was just enough.

Now you have sweet baby album perfect for any new arrival. Have you done any baby projects lately? We would love to hear about them, feel free to share in comments below.

Part 2 - Hello Love Gift Card Holder by Patty Folchert

So I promised a part 2 variation of the original gift card holder project. This one uses the new Healthy Hello papers again but very different color palette and a hello theme. The Healthy Hello clear stamp is used for the inside card verse.

Hello Love card by Patty Folchert

I began with the favor bag and arranged the denim alpha tiles to spell out love, using a heart instead of the letter “o”. I added the yellow gingham pattern paper (Aged Aloha) as a mat backer to the alpha tiles and attached them to a floral mat this time. Then I chose a new soup label sticker “hello” and added it to the bag with 3D foam dots as shown.

Then I made the inside card to fit inside the favor bag using new Healthy Hello Jar of Jambo. I corner rounded the top two corners and stamped the sentiment in brown ink onto plain white card stock. Then I cut out the sentiment and added the pattern paper mat backer from Mushroom Medley, Morels. Then I grabbed my Basic Grey Notch & Die cutting tool and cut the tabs to hold the gift card in place as pictured.

Last just add your favorite new wood veneer clothespin, I chose the blue dot butterfly for this one. Then all that is left is to add the desired gift card into the notches and slide the inner card back into the bag.

So now you have two ways to dress up the new wedding bags and casually say hello with this variation. This project really does has endless combination possibilities for any occasion, so just have fun with it.

Enjoy your Day,

Patty Folchert

Thanks Love Gift Card Holder by designer Patty Folchert

Just wanted to share a fun way to use the new favor bags from Jillibean Soup and turn them into gift card holders. I have done two of these projects for this month and this is the first one. This one is a thank you type gift card holder using the white favor bag with gold foil dots and some new Healthy Hello papers.

Thanks Love gift card holder by Patty Folchert

I began with the favor bag and arranged the vellum alpha tiles to spell out love, using a heart instead of the letter “o”. I added the pink pattern paper (Hint of Hello) as a mat backer to the alpha tiles and attached them to the favor bag. Then I chose a new soup label sticker “thanks” and added it to the bag with 3D foam dots as shown.

Then I made the inside card to fit inside the favor bag using new Healthy Hello Bite of Bonjour. I corner rounded the top two corners and stamped the sentiment in brown ink onto plain white card stock. Then I cut out the sentiment and added the pattern paper mat backer from Healthy Hello, Cup of Ciao. Then I grabbed my Basic Grey Notch & Die cutting tool and cut the tabs to hold the gift card in place as pictured.

Last just add your favorite new wood veneer clothespin, I chose the rose. Then all that is left is to add the desired gift card.

That is how you dress up one of the new wedding bags and say thank you in style. Be sure to check back to the blog, another variation of this project is coming soon.

Thankful,
Patty Folchert

Creating your own Shaker Tags and Cards using Jillibean Soup Shape Shakers

If you haven't noticed, this month we have a focus on how to use our Shape Shakers. I thought it would be good to show you how you can create your own shaker cards or tags using the dies to create the openings for the shaker containers. Of course the quickest and easiest way to use the Shape Shakers is to use the pre-cut cards but there are times where you may run out or want to create your own designs.

Grab the coordinating dies and make your own openings so you can shake, shake, shake anywhere!

IMG_85101. Start with a piece of Kraft cardstock that is 12"x4" (fold in half to make a 6"x4" tag) and the Jar shaped die.

IMG_8512
2. Run the die and cardstock through a die cutting machine.

FullSizeRender (9)
FullSizeRender (10)3. Fill the Jar shaped shaker container with sequins.

IMG_8515
4. Remove the backing from the shaker container to expose the adhesive.

IMG_8516
5. Place the shaker container in the opening (the front of the tag should be facing down).

IMG_8517
6. Close the tag and press so the adhesive sticks to the inside of the tag.

IMG_8518
7. Flip the tag over and get ready to finish it.

FullSizeRender (11)
8. Clip the upper corners at an angle to give it more of a traditional tag shape.

IMG_8520
9. Punch a hole through both layers at the top, by the fold.

FullSizeRender (12)
10. Cut a piece of pattern paper (Mushroom Medley Bite Sized Bits) to measure 3.5"x5.5". Using the Jar shaped die, run through a die-cutting machine to create an opening.

FullSizeRender (13)11. Adhere the pattern paper to the top of the tag.

IMG_8523
12. Create flowers by using the small, flower shaped dies and the Jillibean Soup Kraft Paper Tape. -- it has a paper backing!

IMG_852413. Die-cut a few mini leaves from green cardstock.

IMG_8525
14. Peel the paper backing off the die-cut tape flowers. Place on tag.

FullSizeRender (14)
15. Place some Jillibean Soup Wood Dots in the center of the flowers.

FullSizeRender (17)
16. Stamp a sentiment on the front of the tag (I use the Healthy Hello Stamp set).

FullSizeRender (21)
17. Add a bit of faux stitching with a white pen around the edges of the tag.

FullSizeRender (22)
18. Add a bit of twine to the hole in the top of the tag to finish the tag. (I used Party Playground twine.)

Here's a quick little video showing the entire process.

We'd love to see what you have been creating with the Shape Shakers! Email us at jen@jillibean-soup.com, post it on our Facebook page or tag us on Instagram @jillibeansoup.

Have a great weekend!

Baby Gender Reveal card by designer Patty Folchert

Since this is my very first baby Gender Reveal card, I just had to share it with you. Have you had a chance to trythe new Shaker Cards by Jillibean Soup yet? They are so much fun and so easy to make. This is one that I created for an upcoming baby reveal party using cute new Healthy Hello and Mushroom Medley papers and two Hampton Art stamp sets.

Baby Gender Reveal card by Patty Folchert

First I grabbed the new Shaker card components: card base, shape and sequins. I chose a boy and a girl color for the sequins to match the paper triangles, pink & aqua. I placed the sequins in the shape, peeled the adhesive and dropped into the circle spot with card open. Then I closed the card to attach the shape in the correct spot.

Next I stamped the sentiment in brown ink onto the gray paper and punched with a tag shaped punch. Then I stamped the bird and the giraffe onto the yellow pattern paper in brown ink as well. Those were fussy cut out and set aside to add back on later.

Then I cut the matching paper triangles in pink pattern and aqua pattern paper from the new Healthy Hello collection. Those were attached to the card base as shown and using an exacto knife I cut out the circle opening.

Last I attached the Hello tag with 3D foam dots and added the white bow.

Then adhered the bird and giraffe as shown onto the card base. However, I still wanted a baby sentiment for the inside so I stamped the “precious bundle of joy” in brown ink onto the yellow pattern paper. I cut the sentiment out and attached it to card base under the shape as pictured.

So now I am really looking forward to the party this weekend, because I have the perfect card for the occasion.

Have you been to a Baby Gender Reveal Party? Did you make a card for the occasion? If so I would love to see it, please share in comments below!

Baby Blessings,

Patty Folchert
