Welcome, Hampton Art fans, VIvian Keh here! I have a quick post for you today - a vintage inspired card that came together quickly and easily. Once the card was done, I kid you not, something about it (maybe it was the surreal gaze of my stamped dame?), sent my imagination on a wild wild ride! I chose DCWV's "Tradewinds" stack for this project. This stack is chock full of foiling, rich autumnal hues, natural textures, and nautical elements that collectively remind me of East Coast beaches in the colder months of the year. I nested three patterned rectangles cut from these papers for my background, and adhered some darker, punched strips horizontally to ground my focal image.
Isn't that ornate frame stunning? Both the frame and the mesmerizing portrait stamp are included in the Hampton Art/ Spellbinders "Royal Affair" Combination Stamp & Die Set IC0183.
This is probably already evident and doesn't need to be said, but I'll say it anyway. Folks, once you own this, you can cut as many of these frames as you want for years and years to come! Paired with their matching stamps, the level of detail you can achieve with these dies is no less than spectacular. My love affair with dies and punches deepens every gosh darn crafty day that passes... Seriously. OK 'nuff said.
To pump up the variety of texture in this project, I wrapped some creamy seam binding around the card and nestled a decorative metal button beside my focal image. After stamping my sentiment from my well-used Hampton Art/ 7 Gypsies IC0148 "Abundance" Stamp Set and affixing it to the card, I sat back, met my stamped lady's gaze, and started daydreaming about pearls and jewels, graceful empire waistlines, imposing fireplaces, worn books, private yearnings. Yes, occasionally my imagination takes me far far away haha!
Hope you enjoyed this project and especially hope you get a chance to pick up this amazing stamp & die combination set - you won't be disappointed!
