Simplicity. Today is all about getting back to the basics. So what are the basics? Really all you need is a photo and a pen, everything else is just added art to your project. How many times do we forget the words because the artistic part is so much fun? I know that is me more often than I want to admit. I love filling the page up with color and fun things, and many times when I am finished there is no space left for the words. I really thought hard today about what anyone would know if I passed away. Would they know the story behind each photo? Would they get to know me and what I believed in? So I am trying to make sure with this project that there are more words. More detail of what I am thinking and how I feel about the person. Trust me there will still be art and colors and fun, but balanced with thoughts, feelings, and words.

I have a way that you can test yourself. Browse through you most current album. Pretend that you are a stranger looking at the album. Are there enough words on your pages to tell a story? If not try and write more going forward. If the answer is yes then AWESOME!!! Keep up the great work.

We are getting ready for DUCK season at my house. Spring Duck photos means...deep cleaning, Spring planting, new backdrops, Spring props....so out the door I go to get it all done.

Today I want to talk about the bad photos. You know, the photos that are a bit out of focus, the photos that are taken too far away, the photos that cut someone's head off. We all have them and most of us throw these photos away. But I am going to give you a few hints on how to save them. If they capture a moment or memory worth saving then do not throw them away.

PRINT THEM WALLET SIZE!!!!

When things are printed small a lot of the flaws are forgiven. This photo here was taken on a phone, so it is a bit blurry, there was a lot of distraction and when I cropped that out I was left with a photo that could not even be printed 4x6, so I printed it wallet size, and guess what??? I think it works. In fact this is one of my favorite memories at Disneyland and I am SOOOO happy that I have it.

This is the front side of one of the new zip pouches. Just imagine all of the possibilities!!!

And the backside. This zip pouch has 3 different slots to stuff all of your goodness from that week or that month. I love love love these so much!!!

Notice the other goodies that I used here...Just look at those pink circular heavenly hole reinforcements. Matched with the pink card that I cut down to fit within the pouch. Really the possibilities are endless.

I want to break down this page today so you can see everything that was used. Let's start with the page itself, this is one of the new add on inserts. Don't you just love the colorful edge?

Another favorite are the new hole reinforcements, I mean who could resist the bright colors and poka dots?

The scalloped paper you see is actually a card just trimmed down.

To finish the page off how about a beautiful pink ticket and sticker? So simple and so easy!!!

Today I want to show you up close and personal our Zip Pouches. Just look at how cute they are!! They come in a package of 6 2 of each size. You can fill them with trinkets or really anything that you would like. I LOVE them!!!!

I love the simplicity this album allows. There are so many different possibilities, the choices on how to make your album are endless. Just a bit of journaling about each photo and you are bringing a whole month together to remember for a lifetime. My children are totally into this new project. They will be the ones to say "Mom, take a photo of this." It is awesome. I believe that is what scrapbooking is all about. Creating the memories, actual memories that you want to capture and relive the stories.
